Brown Betty Farm raises Natural Colored fine wool sheep with an emphasis on breeding for exceptional moorit fleeces for the discerning handspinner.
Our sheep call Schuylerville, NY home and happily graze lush pastures on the banks of the Hudson River. Currently, our flock consists of seven ewes (four moorit and three black) and two rams (one moorit and one black).
Meet the flock here.
We will have fleeces available for sale in December, 2011 and will have breeding stock available in the spring of 2012. Please contact Liz for more information or to be placed on a waiting list.
We also keep a small backyard flock of chickens, raised to produce eggs for our family. Currently, we are growing out five Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chicks that were hatched in Liz’s mother’s third-grade classroom this spring. After several years of having popular breeds we wanted to try something different. We may even keep a rooster around and see if we can hatch some more!
